2017 Inaugural Recipient — Hwi Yeong Engle

On June 1, 2017 at the College's 43rd Annual Awards Night, the Berkshire Community College Foundation awarded more than $290,000 in scholarships to 173 of BCC's top students.

The inaugural JoAnn Burke Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $500 was awarded to Hwi Yeong Engle (known as Annie to to her friends).

Hwi Yeong graduated this June with a degree in Biology. She plans to continue her studies at either MCLA or UMass Amherst, where she will continue her education and study Biochemistry. Ultimately, she would like to conduct research in a laboratory setting.
